Branding – Medical Technology

Branding - Medical Technology

Medisieve came to us during the start up phase of their business developing a groundbreaking drug-free malaria treatment. Invented by Dr George Frodsham as part of his PhD research at UCL, it involves a magnetic sieve that removes malaria infected blood cells directly from the patient.

This design brief involved the development of a short form brand strategy, logo design, business card, PowerPoint template and business stationery, which would help Medisieve continue to attract backing to further develop the technology.

We carried out a rapid on boarding with the client in London, spending a day getting up to speed with the business, the technology, the various audience segments and potential alternative treatments.

This enabled us to create a striking visual identity that encapsulated the process and the business’ position in the marketplace. Once we’d locked down the logo, colour themes and fonts we moved on to applying the style to the various presentation tools that Medisieve needed.

A range of materials were designed, many of which were converted into Microsoft Office suite formats in order for George and his team to use them on a day to day basis at low cost.

When developing new visual identities like this, it’s critical to consider their usage in various media. Clarity at small scale is critical, especially for social media.

Testimonials

We used An.X to rebrand MediSieve, including producing a new logo, graphics, marketing materials and stationery for the company. We were really pleased with both the process and outputs. Jon and his team were a pleasure to work with, both responsive and imaginative. The ‘post-sales customer service’ has also been excellent as they’ve helped us to ensure that we make the most out of their work. Highly recommended!

Having recently undergone a brand strategy review, Andrew and Michael Freeman, the Academy’s directors, asked us to design a visual identity – logo and supporting brand materials.

The team at KTA needed a full set of brand materials once the logo, colour palette and font family were all designed. This included apparel for both staff and students, stationery, student reports, posters, pop up displays, a PowerPoint presentation template and print and digital ads to promote the Academy.

The KTA team presented a very well developed and considered brand strategy to us, which made it fundamentally simpler to design the initial concepts for the new logo and primary brand architecture. Creating the line art representation of a trampolinist in full spin was trickier to achieve as we wanted a balance between dynamism and simplicity but the end result is works well.

Since being established in 2006, and with the Freeman brothers joining in 2011, the Academy has gone from strength to strength. KTA gymnasts have won 8 World Age Group Championship medals (x5 Gold, x1 Silver, x2 Bronze) and seen 3 gymnasts on World Class Programmes. And, since 2013 have helped more than 2,500 members to enjoy trampoline gymnastics and make some lifelong memories.

Testimonials

Eddie and his team worked with us to design a new identify for our trampoline business. We received excellent service – sector analysis, concepts and refinement of the final design. We are delighted with our graphics and identity. The team kept to our deadlines and are always willing to help with edits or requests. We continue to use An.X Ltd. for further work.

Wellington Barn originally approached us about a brand refresh in November 2016. During the development process, once they’d seen the impact that an improved logo could have, the work extended into poster designs, menu designs, advertising and pop up banners.

From the initial work on simplifying and modernising the logo, we designed a range of promotional flyers and online banners for various campaigns, many focusing on their busy wedding season.

One innovative layout we completed early in the project was a wedding brochure which was designed as an elongated luggage tag with a hole punched brass fixing. This allowed the client to unbind the pages and replace the price schedule as often as necessary without the need for a full reprint.

We continue to work with Wellington Barn for all their graphic design, advertising and promotion needs. Their business continues to flourish from their lovely location in north Wiltshire.

When the two owners were looking for a branding agency they approached An.X to audit their current designs as the existing materials had been in use for a many years. They felt it was time for a brand refresh.

One driver of this design change was a goal to secure larger corporate clients. So they wanted a brand that would enable them to approach this segment with the confidence that the visual presentation of their business matched the already high quality of their service delivery.

After initial research into the brand’s development over time, and its key aspects, we were able to present a new logo, font and colour palette. This led on to further work implementing the new graphic design style across the various tools this great floristry business uses day to day.

The orchid that formed the centrepiece of the old logo was a necessary requirement to carry through to the new design. Otherwise, the rest of the brand architecture was open to be updated and modernised.

This allowed us to re-evaluate the style of the orchid and match it to a range of cool, fresh modern colours and fonts.

As a small business, with a lot of existing design collateral in use, it took Shirley Snells around two years to phase out the old look and fully incorporate the new brand. We guided them throughout this period as we continued to supply updated collateral, uniforms and so on. One quick win they did achieve related to their primary goal of new corporate clients. Within the first six months of the branding work going public, they secured every one of the clients on their target list. Within the first year, their turnover increased by 40%.

Testimonials

The new branding has really raised our profile. An.X have always gone that extra mile to ensure we are a happy client.
